When the reminder message steals the evening bay
Friday evenings should have been the workshop’s easiest fill. The owner kept three advisors on late shifts and still watched the calendar thin after 5 p.m.
During the sample window we lined reminder send times against cancellations. The automated message left the phone at 3:45 p.m., right when many customers were still in traffic. Those who opened it late found the tone already apologetic — “if you can still make it” — which read like permission to skip.
We did not recommend a new vendor. We recommended a quieter reminder at noon and a firmer second note at 4:30. Two weeks later the evening bays were imperfect but no longer mysterious.
